Rig assembly in the workshop with boom sections being aligned

Overview

July 2025 focused on putting a Keller rig back into service after carriage repairs. I overhauled the boom, replaced hoses, checked electrical systems, and supported the commissioning run before transport.

Scope & Methods

  • Reassembled boom and mast sections with pin fit checks and torque logs.
  • Routed and clipped new hydraulic hoses, pressure-tested circuits.
  • Completed electrical inspections on limit switches, sensors, and work lights.
  • Supported commissioning: lube system priming, safety interlock tests, function checks.

Highlights

Alignment

  • Used laser alignment to verify mast verticality within tolerance.
  • Documented shim adjustments for future reference.

Ready for Site

  • Issued completed inspection pack covering hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Rig passed function checks and was released for mobilisation.

Outcomes

  • Rig returned to service with zero commissioning faults.
  • Follow-up inspection after first week reported no leaks or electrical issues.
  • Client extended workshop slot to cover additional assets.
